Aryabhata is one of the best and first mathematician and astronomer from India. He found the place value system in mathematics and the values zero in it. He found out that Pi is an irrational value. He has discussed even about the modern trigonometric methods like sine and cosine in his early days. He has also contributed for intermediate equations and even in algebra, where he found the formulas for summation of squares and cubes. His contribution in astronomy includes his study on solar system in which he clearly states that earth rotates about an axis, he said that moon and all the other planets shine because of sunlight’s reflection on it, he also calculated the radius of earth accurately, he calculated the time taken by the earth to rotate once which is referred as sidereal periods.
