It was English, which ruled the world once. Even today, one cannot survive in the international market without the knowledge of English. Thus English is the international language, and people are much interested to learn this language. There are innumerable literates in English literature, but the great person Geoffrey Chaucer is considered to be the father of English literature. Chaucer, born in 1343, was a poet, author, philosopher, and also a diplomat. The one particular work which made him famous was The Canterbury tales. History says that, Chaucer gave the appropriate version of English after adopting and analyzing several dialects of English.
